Ball Of Wool - 24

I've begun work on the tree now on the left. Added some new sheep and brought the sky down a little further.

I find it easier to think in metaphor...the image of the tumbling gems is quite striking. The flying sheep are obvious to me...A little girl at school yesterday asked me why the sheep were flying..I could only answer that the sheep were very important and therefore because they were important, they should be in the sky. It seemed to satisfy her curiosity...but sometimes the answer is "Because I want them to be"..I told the children in a conspiratorial way that artists have a special license just like James Bond...'Artistic license'.As the artist, you make and draw and change the world to whatever you want! The only limit is your imagination!

I go totally in for metaphors too.
This one of the gem stones and tumbler is quite good and makes absolute sense when you think of people evolving to try and find their centre of beauty. And as Khalil Gibran said, "Beauty is eternity gazing at itself in a mirror."

For me, the sheep remind me of the little angels in Giotto's "Lamentation" painting, Arena Chapel, Padua. Maybe it's that lapis lazuli sky of yours.

hehe that's a great idea - an artistic license - so true!

I saw on the paper that it was Magritte's birthday today too - you probably knew already, but it has to mean something, right?

THE OTHER DAY THE SKY WAS FULL OF CLOUDS AND AS I WAS ADMIRING IT RESEMBLED THOSE SHEEPS..THEN I THOUGHT CLOUDS REPRESENTED SHEEPS OR VISE WERSA...AND ITS HIDDEN MEANING..LIFE ITS PROBLEMS ALWAYS HANGING ABOVE..WEIGHTLESS..LIKE DRESS....I THINK THIS MAY BE TREMED AS VIEWERS LICENSE RIGHT?

Jonice...Beauty means so much things doesn't it?..There is what aesthists would call a balance of requisit factors...a presense and sense of design. But there is the beauty of humanity..the beauty of survival against adversity..the struggle of a mother who loses her fight for life whilst protecting her child..a lonely old man who visits the grave of his long departed lover.Beauty is only skin deep, but love is like a knife with a velvet edge. (sorry..got carried away there!)

Julie...I had to look that one up but good heavens (!) yes, you're right..maybe there is something coming throught the time lines to remind us of something?...or more likely it is the symptom of a visionary.

DM...Magritte, i had forgotten, but I used to be proud to share a birthday with him as you know, he is a hero of mine. I also share a BD with Goldie Hawn!

RM..My thanks RM, an astute observation.

Tys..mmmmm.How did you know..?You naughty people. But thank you. I would have a drink on you,but I might be a little heavy!
