Cello - 39..the view from my room.

I found it necessary to darken the whole of the viaduct to gain the right level of contrast (compare to yesterday's photos) the arch still isn't looking right to me...I will have to adjust the curvature a little i think.

It's been a difficult weekend for me..Jan is away yet again , this time acting in Oxford. So I've been in charge ...not that I have any control over my increasingly determined teenage sons. Yesterday they went out into town and then on to a friend's house.I rang them several times to check where they were..at 1:20 am I decided to go to bed..my oldest boy assured me "Don't worry Dad...we'll be home soon" So I went off to bed. Got up this morning..their beds were empty..their meals still on the plates in the kitchen..I hate it when that happens.I worked out where they were....I was so angry, not because they weren't safe, but because I didn't know exactly where they were..anything might have happened. when I explain my concerns, they look at me and laugh as if I'm from another planet..well actually I'm from Earth...they're from 'planet teenager' which as far as I can tell, is in a totally different part of the universe to normal existence!...I know..I've been there!

So I was very lucky enough to have Annie's friend invite her round to play leaving me time to work a little. I thought I'd try out the panorama facility on my camera (I've had it for nearly 4 years now and never tried this function!) So here is the view out of my window...I've scribbled some notes to point out some places of interest. Please note the severely pruned willow tree at the bottom of my garden!

oh my goodness. Your boys need a spanking. Or as my grandmother would say, "a whip-a doopah!". I hope my boys grow up to be like my nephew, he is sooo loving and so close to his parents. He still kisses his mother and father before he goes anywhere, and he's 17.

Oh my, sorry about the teenagedom going on over there. :/

That's a lovely photograph, such nice light. We had a Bombardier over here too, but I suspect it has already closed and fired everyone. At least that's what's happening everywhere.

I really like the two little people in the painting.

I really love this! It's such an elaborate piece...

As for teenagers -- I have two boys as well, I know just what you are going through -- good luck...

Poor you! As you have probably already surmised, I suspect this is linked to their desperate need to grow up quickly and be 'adults' as well as not losing 'face' in front of friends who may tease them if the phone home. I know that this is what it was like for me at any rate. My parents concern felt like being stifled when I felt I was so terribly grown up already and I did have friends who would tease me about ringing home. Of course this was pre-mobile so I had to find a call box ususally! Perhaps you could get them to text you?

The picture is looking great!

Hi Niall! ... that looks like a tree in need of a treehouse (or at least a good climb!).

Julie...I love my boys..they're wonderful. That's why it's so annoying..I tell them this when I end up shouting at them...I tell them that the time to worry is when I couldn't care less what they get up to!.

DM...Therer's been a locomotive manufacturing business in Derby since the 1800's...I think it's secure for the time being.

Sue...Solidarity!..Thank you.

BK...I bet you were a right tear away?!

Christine...In light of current events..perhaps I'll make my home up there!
