It's quite impressive seeing the wider perspective.

This is the point where I think "what is up with this composition?" and then when I see the whole thing, you've managed to pull it all together, somehow.

DM...I have to admit..sometimes I spend so long in close up that when I actually step away i am surprised.Today was one of those days.I have a fairly set idea of how I want this to look. but it develops as I go along. For instance, the clouds to the right of the wooden figure's head are roughly dotted in with a base layer..I still don't know how i'd like them to look yet but I do know that once I get to work on that bit..it'll all work out.

Julie...Since this photograph was taken this afternoon I've filled in the sky above the clouds..The basic design for the composition set out in my sketch (see post of 28th January ) is what I am still using as a guide..but I now begin to feel that there needs to be something behind the figures on the ground..I had thought it would be mist and possibly the occasional grave stone..I have a few days before I need to decide! This picture reminds me of those wonderful gatefold LP sleeves we used to buy before CDs!

That is quite a dramatic sky. It seems to be full of portents.
