Looking at the close up view I can't help thinking of the Seurat picture 'Grand Jatte'..I don't mean to compare it, but as in the painting, my picture contains people out enjoying a sunny day albeit out shopping . Today I enjoyed putting in the two figures highlighted by the sun just to the left of the woman in the foreground.It needed a minimum of dots to achieve the correct effect and one false move could have messed things up..as it was, it worked OK.I'm really enjoying the book I told you about yesterday.I love it when you can disappear into someone Else's life and experience..It got me thinking, what do we look for in a 'good book'?..always assuming you're not after a text book to study..what makes your perfect read?..personally I need something to 'affect' me..to 'move' me in an emotional way..I like something that challenges my preconceptions, i like something that gives me a window on another person's life..I like to reach the end of the book and BE a better person for it and be able to apply something I've learned from it into my life.....how about you?

I'm amazed when books speak my mind, when they validate the way I think and feel...that's a book worth reading.
My favourite book included this but also made me feel a lot of things, it enraged me and deeply involved me in the story. It's not often that you get to be the character, feel the way they feel and, at the same time, be able to detach yourself and criticize their behaviour.
You are absolutely right. But sadly enough it needs to grab me right att the first chapter or it loose me...

You know when I first discovered Suerat, I was astonished and amazed that such a technique would give such marvellous results.Then i remember feeling the same way when i first discovered your blog...and your pictures.(and it was by sheer chance, through Tim's blog, which i stumbled upon from lakhs of blogs) Yes--this picture does remind one of suerat's Grand Jatte--but only the similarity that you pointed out.
Books always inspire and influence me...I think to a large extent, even have helped me shape my values and character--and more importantly what NOT to become!Right now I am reading Milan Kundera's "life is elsewhere" and I'm loving it.
