The scene is slowly filling up, as the definition on the faces becomes clearer, I'm enjoying the characters..if you remember the picture 'The Lady In Red', one commentator remarked that they were waiting for the man to move. In this case I'd like the gentleman in the foreground to turn his head and look the other way for a while. (maybe this is what they do whilst I'm asleep!).Yesterday I chatted with he children at my Afterschool Artclub about a work of art that had been in the news.

Lol, Niall! Here in Curitiba there are two streets that change places whilst I'm asleep, too. Seems I can never find them in the right spot when I have to.
I'll come back in the evening to take a look at the work of art you've mentioned and will comment again, for now we should have lunch and leave for afternoon tasks.

Imagine what they're up to when you're asleep. It's fun to think of that.
I'm not into contemporary art, I have to say. A crack on the floor - ah, very funny. NO! It's not!
There's always that question about what is art bla bla bla...You even sent me that great document about it. I think it's something relative and personal. I'm sure the artist thinks that crack is art. Fine. To me art is something that makes me feel something but also something that I can see and say: this person is talented, this person worked and tried hard to get to this point.
It was I who was waiting for the man in LIR to move, and I agree that the man in the foreground here should look away! I can see how that might be unnerving as you work, to have him constantly staring at you! LOL! I love all the energy in this piece, I can feel the movement and pace of the street.
Jonice..Bon appetite!..I've heard of a changing neighbourhood but an overnight street awap is unnerving! :-)
DM..I love the "What is Art" stuff...but that's for another time..as for the 'Crack'...imagine wanting to buy it?...
Anonymum..Of course it was oyu!..please accept my apologies..I think it would be a good idea if I was to produce a couple of variations of the same piture with figues in different poses...then during an exhibition, I could change it each day...(Thank you Jonice, DM and Anonymum..you've got me thinking now!)
I love how your picture is coming along. It has such a feeling of 'life' and movement about it.
As for the crack. I find it interesting with regards to what it represents and as such it is a great piece for discussion of the issues it represents. As such it has great symbolism but I don't find it pleasing to look at though, as it is simply a crack in concrete. Just as well really as I have nowhere to put it! LOL!
I suppose art could be a word we cannot define precisely. For definitions could sometimes vanish in haze or fade away in time, I don't know... That would certainly be a subject for long talks and thoughts, something to look into from a wide range of points of view...
All the same, the crack I've just seen on those pictures doesn't touch me neither for beauty nor for talent. And as I'm but a normal mortal art enjoyer (not a connaisseur) what I define as art for myself is something that my soul enjoys when I see, or hear, or read, whatever... That was not the case concerning that work, oh well...
