Lines 9

Well..since I've not received any comments on my last post I can only assume I've offended everybody. OK..so i don't think that space exploration is the big evil..I see poverty and oppression as the big evil. I see self centered attitudes disregard those amongst us who need a helping hand. And the massive amounts of money thrown into the sky perhaps for me is a Red Herring. Perhaps it's you and I?..perhaps it's actually at an individual level that we need to make the change. It's no good me rattling on in a self righteous way when all I actually do is sit at home drawing pictures!.......ummmmm?

Well..weather you read this or not..the pictures will still appear here.

I am sorry I haven't been around much lately. Last week was totally rough for me health wise and I just kind of did the lump thing and read books all day. But, I am back now! Yay!
Do you know what I think is one of the biggest evils? Greed. The love of things. People rating their lives on how many cool gadgets they own. Wanting all of the really cool shiny stuff but not wanting to work for it. How we are now rated by how big our houses are, how expensive our cars.
Stuff is great. I have lots of stuff. Mostly books and art supplies and what not. But in the long run, it's just stuff. It's not what makes me happy. I will admit that it took me a long time to realize that but I am grateful that I have finally discovered that it's not what I have but what I am and what I do that matters and makes me happy. Now, if I can just get my girls to understand that at an earlier age than I did. That would be a wonderful thing. Sorry for rambling on, treatment day and still a wee bit drugged.

I agree with you, that it is WE, collectively, who have to make a difference. To eradictae illiteracy in my country,we have a program called "each one, teach one" My home state is a 100%literate state, where his initiative, has really borne fruit.By individual efforts, one can collectively mkae a difference.

And I shall keep coming back and reading because it makes me think. You have a wonderful way of encouraging people to think--through both, your pictures and your words.

It's funny how we get so attached to other people's comments. But sometimes we read into their absence too much. Sometimes they just didn't have much time to post or think about what to say...And sometimes silence is better than a shalow comment, even if it doesn't seem that way!

devil...you are correct..I'm just being over-sensitive I guess!Thankyou for your comment though..may your mood be ever more devilish!

It's nice to see your work progressing. I am one of the people who haven't been able to visit the last couple of days I'm afraid, but when I come back, I generally read back to see what I've missed :-)

There are a lot of ills in the world adn I agree with the others in that individuals need to take more responsibility for how they live their lives. If we want the world to become a better place then we need to do our bit - whether it's giving money to charity, saying please and thank you, smiling more, doing voluntary work or something else. I passionately beleive that everyone can do something small.

BTW - it's your blog and you are entitled to you opinion. I think when people comment they are simply discussing things with you. The problem with type (or the lack of a comment) is that it lacks all the other nuances of communication such as tone and facial expression. It's why I use smileys :-)
