Ricky Rec 9

Spent three hours working on the bit of grass, getting the shadows to the right density hopefully.I've got reduced patience today. My hearing is particularly bad at the moment. I suffer from Tinnitus which produces a constant ringing or screaming sound in my ears. My right ear feels 'blocked' and sounds are muffled..I've no idea what people are saying if there are other voices in the room..sudden sounds make me jump. My family think I'm being over sensitive . But I find it debilitating. Have been to hospital who say they can do nothing for me!I feel like tearing my hair out sometimes..it taints everything.
Here is another close up showing how the other half of the picture will look like. Saying that..I keep going back to this bit and adding fresh layers of colour.

sorry to hear about you continued problems with your hearing, tho i would advise against tearing your hair out as you don't have much of it left

Fantastic! It's getting so many great details. By the way, why is it called Ricky Rec?
I'm glad I make no disturbing noises when I leave a comment here :)

'Ricky Rec' is so called by local people..it's short for 'Rykneld Recreation Ground'!

Don't you think it looks like the whilte bit's being rubbed away? A bit like those old painting books form years agao where you put water on and the paper turned into acoloured picture. I think it must be there all the time, under the whiteness...

Niall, i am falling in love with this piece of art!! I am becoming obsesive tracking its progress. So sorry your not feeling so good today. must be very tough somedays.

Do you sell all your pictures? Is the website just for copies or are there originals on there too?

So how does Tinnitus get better?Does it go away on its own?Is it stress related?(most of these things are)

Preeti..Thank you for asking..Tinnitus is the result of damage to the inner ear. The tiny hair-like structures that detect sound waves and transfere them to the brain are damaged thus giving incorrect signals to the brain causeing it to think it's hearing sound when infact it isn't. This sound is similar to 'white noise'or a poorly tuned shortwave radio. It is untreatable but symptoms are aggrivated by stress and tiredness, therefore management of these problems can help alleviate the effect...Basically I'm stuck with it!
